TRAX Image Recognition was experiencing rapid expansion and thus outgrowing its shophouse premises. Despite being relatively young, the company serviced firmly established brands and, therefore, needed a space that would simultaneously represent the professionality and strength of their brand. After conducting several feasibility studies, Trax located a functional place for the office situated right in Singapore’s CBD.

As this location space was going to be the new global headquarters, the brief called for a floorplan that would welcome their global client base and support a forward-thinking workforce ensuring continued future growth. Integral to a successful design fit-out was the need to embed the corporate brand into the interior spaces.

Multifunctional spaces for internal collaboration and client meetings were accentuated with bold corporate colours to create a cohesive working environment.

This project was a step toward a strong corporate identity for the client, and thus, the design was more commercial in intent.

The layout responded to the usual building footprint — a combination of rectangular and spherical shapes. The front end of the office is purely a client-facing & servicing zone, where a grand circular reception greets guests. This follows into an impressive boardroom with views of Singapore’s CBD and a more private room for product demonstrations.

Moving into the office, a central spine of manager’s rooms opens into team seating with low partitions and adaptable modular furniture. Each manager’s room corresponds with a pod of team seating, allowing for ease of communication.

An expansive landscaped terrace surrounds the office unit; this layout allows all the staff, regardless of position to have access to natural light and the ability to appreciate the views across the city.

At the tail end of the office, staff has a large pantry and breakout area as well as a quiet room to retreat to or hold informal meetings in. These multifunctional offerings are among the most high-traffic areas in the office.
